Field Work

Day broke with 3 inches of white blanketing my feeder area. Among the lovelies visiting this morning was this White-Throated Sparrow, a Canadian breeder wintering outside my kitchen window. With its white throat and wispy black whisker, white crown and supercilium (a stripe that runs from the base of the beak above the eye), and those brilliant yellow lores, this sparrow is one of my prettiest Solstice ornaments. #ShareYourLight
