Unthinkable

Dora Rescue Anniversary.01.EH

Unthinkable…that the dog days of summer could ever be absent of feline fur.  But one year ago my carpets only held canine shed.  Today I type to the scamper of my tuxedo kitty, and begin the celebratory anniversary week of her rescue.

Sisters: Monday Musings

Dory was rescued six months ago from the night streets of our small town, just a wee handful of curiosity.  Cappy, the eldest dog, quickly asserted his “do not touch me” rule. Luci, on the other hand, delightedly modified doggy games to meet her new toy’s size and age, and willingly accepted the kitten snuggles.  I often find the two curled up, sharing space, snoozing.  Sisters.

‘Twas a Dark and Stormy Night…

It was a dark and stormy night…

Well, it was dark.

And the five week old tuxedo kitten sat transfixed by my daughter’s headlights…in the middle of the downtown street.  A powerful cat-lady, this young woman scooped up the furry handful and brought her home. Even if the local rescue organizations had had room, this kitten could never leave our hearts. Now nine weeks old, Dora Simone is an inquisitive, acrobatic house-cat.
